Elysian Soaps was created by Shannon Constantine who started out in retail sales selling fragrances for L'Occcitane and Acqua di Parma. All of her scents and soaps are her own formulations where she takes inspiration from historical figures and mythology. Elysian embraces the belief that grooming products should use premium ingredients with beneficial properities and leave a conditioined feel to the skin. Elysian's offering has expanded to include shave soaps, splashes, balms, EDPs, and pre-shave oil.
Scent Description
Aurelius' main accords are citrus and wood, which are gently blended to create a delicate bouquet which is soft, clean and masculine. The juicy and fresh top notes of grapefruit and lemon are given depth with the additions of cassis (blackcurrant) and lily of the valley, and punctuated by an intriguing low-key spiciness from cardamom, saffron, and frankincense. As it dries down, a mellow blend of citrus and wood come to the fore. The scent strength is low, making the overall effect subtle, which is perfect for the gentlemen who exhibits refinement, restraint, and sophistication.
Elysian's aftershaves contain a number of beneficial skin foods including Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid, Marshmallow Root, Almond Oil, and Vitamin E. While the Marshmallow Root aids in slickness and hydration, as do the Almond Oil and Vitamin E, the presence of oil is slighly more noticeable than average in the post-application feel.
