Canoe
Dana
Dana Classic Fragrances began life as The House of Dana, a perfumery in Barcelona, Spain, founded in 1932 by Javier Serra, a former executive of the Spanish perfume house Myrurgia. Early successes included Tabu (1932), Canoe (1936) and Emir (1936), which established Dana as a major fragrance house. Notably, Canoe was one of the earliest Fougères to gain popularity among men in the United States and is widely credited as being one of the first examples of the Barbershop genre. In 1995 after being acquired by Renaissance Cosmetics, Dana changed its strategy and began acquiring and revitalizing older brands, which today include English Leather, Canoe, British Stirling, Monsieur Musk, and multiple women's fragrances.

Scent Description
Canoe was launched by the House of Dana in 1936 and is widely hailed as one of the first Barbershops. Although, technically a Fougère due to the presence of Lavender, Tonka Bean, and Oakmoss, it is dominated by Vanilla, Clove, Geranium, and Carnation making it an intensely sweet and floral bouquet. Strong powdery tones combine with the sweetness to give it a baby powdery freshness, which some will enjoy while others may find cloying. A classic fragrance which played an importal role in the evolution of men's aftershaves. Although it bares the stamp of an earlier time, it maintains a gentlemanly air.
