Bay Rum
Barrister & Mann
Started out of his apartment in Boston Massachusettes in 2013 by Will Carius, a self-taught perfumer, Barrister & Mann has grown into the one of the premium shave brands of the wet shaving community. The brand is famous for creating original fragrances which are complex and multi-layered, with classic Fougère properties such as those found in Seville, Le Grand Chypre, and Waves. The product line includes shave soaps, bar soaps, aftershaves and colognes.

Scent Description
Like every scent by Will Carius, Bay Rum is complex, well-balanced, and multi-layered. Although it has some of the classic Bay Rum elements such as bay leaf, orange and rum, the addition of benzoin and cinnamon create an ethereal, hazy, bouquet which is the signature characteristic of Barrister & Mann fragrances, and often found in Fougères. As it dries down, clove seems to come to the foreground making the scent warm and sweet. A good choice for Bay Rum, alongside other classics such as Westman's Bastardo and Pinaud Bay Rum. Warm and restrained enough to be worn in any setting, including the office, Bay Rum is a bit casual for date night but could be appropriate depending on the setting.
